Erich Leinsdorf was Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1962-1969. During that period, over 150 live Boston SO concerts were televised and here is a sample from one of them.

Leinsdorf was noted for his skill and efficiency but sometimes for his coldness too, something of which filters through in this Beethoven performance. Still, he had a long career in the opera house, concert hall and recording studio, so a sample of his work deserves an upload here. It comes from an 'ICA Classics' DVD release and is uploaded here with all due acknowledgements. (Catalogue No. ICAD 5059. This DVD also features Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony.)
