The song begins about the time 2:08 or 2:09, after the title and introductory photo/picture slides. Also, the song ends about 5:32 or 5:33; after the end of the song are more images for reflection until about 7:48 or 7:49.

This song is about Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) escaping from Uist to the Isle of Skye after his defeat (by the English) at the Battle of Culloden in1746; with the aid of Flora MacDonald disguised as a serving maid, he escaped in a small boat. It is a traditional expression of Jacobitism (Jacobites) - a political movement dedicated to the return of the Stuart kings to the thrones of England, Scotland, and Ireland; they supported Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Lyrics:

Traditional
Old Highland Rowing Measure
Written By: Harold Boulton, 2nd Baronet, to an air collected by Annie MacLeod (Lady Wilson) in the 1870s.

Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing,/Onward! The sailors cry;/Carry the lad that's born to be King/Over the sea to Skye.

Loud the winds howl, loud the waves roar,/Thunderclouds rend the air;/Baffled, our foes stand by the shore,/Follow they will not dare.

Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing,/Onward! The sailors cry;/Carry the lad that's born to be King/Over the sea to Skye.

Though the waves leap, soft shall ye sleep,/Ocean's a royal bed./Rocked in the deep, Flora will keep/Watch by your weary head.

Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing,/Onward! The sailors cry;/Carry the lad that's born to be King/Over the sea to Skye.

Many's the lad fought on that day,/Well the claymore could wield,/When the night came, silently lay/Dead in Culloden's field.

Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing,/Onward! The sailors cry;/Carry the lad that's born to be King/Over the sea to Skye.

Burned are their homes, exile and death/Scatter the loyal men;/Yet e'er the sword cool in the sheath/Charlie will come again.

Speed, bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing,/Onward! The sailors cry;/Carry the lad that's born to be King/Over the sea to Skye.
