Billy Idol "Rebel Yell" guitar lesson. The next Riff of the Day uses a Wampler Plextortion and Mr. Black Double Chorus to create a hot 80's tone. Steve Stevens plays the intro with a single guitar but fingerpicks to create two simultaneous guitar parts. This can take some practice both with the fingers and getting the pick back in position for the song. "Rebel Yell" then jumps into a G, F#, E progression with plenty of low E chugging and we include a bit of harmonic whammy bar action. The verse eases back by playing power chords an octave higher, including a nice Gmaj7 for a moody sound. The powerful chorus is basically the same structure (now including the lower B chord ) but inserts an A, B, A lick in between the changes. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson!
