Nataly’s Corner in the #smoothjazzzone featuring the music of smooth jazz bass guitarist Byron Miller with a track from the album “Psycho Bass”. I regret to say that this is my first contact with Byron Miller’s music. I knew when I heard the song title “It’s in our Eyes” that this was going to be a very smooth piece. When romance is the mix…they say you can tell the purity of a person’s soul through their eyes. I think Byron sends the message soft and passionately with the guitar sounds.
Byron Miller’s BIO say’s he was initially interested in the keyboards at age 5 before pursuing bass guitar in High school. As quoted, “he became so intimately attuned to the instrument that he’d play until he could feel the accuracy of the chords…” As a result of much practice, Byron Miller got his first introduction to those already in the music business at 18 yrs of age when he was asked to join Jazz/R&B/Soul musician, composer, and producer Roy Ayers’ Ubiquity. This union led to him being included on several albums and touring events with the Ayers. Between 1992 and 2003, Byron Miller recorded and released his own music. Over the years, he is known to have music associations with some of the heavy hitter musicians in the industry, such as Carlos Santana, Herbie Hancock, the Crusaders, Chaka Khan, and Luther Vandross, to name a few. But of all the musicians, the late & great George Duke is listed as his closest association (Byron collaborated with Duke on 14 of his albums).
