It's All About a Good Time...

And you can bet thats what youll have with Big Daddy Rhythm & The Heavyweights. Everything they do on stage is directed toward one purposemaximum entertainment! They achieve that goal through a combination of excellent song selection, lots of audience participation, expert musicianship, and a genuine love for what they do. These guys are obviously having a blast in their show and it is truly infectious. Any audience will find it nearly impossible not to enjoy them enjoying themselves.

One of the first things youll notice at a Big Daddy Rhythm show is that there are a bunch of instruments on the stage for just six people. On their stage, youll find drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, trumpet, trombone, saxophones, and harmonica. All the members of the band sing and most of them play several instruments during the show. Most of the members have music degrees or extensive formal training.

The band plays through a state-of-the-art PA system, which is run by an expert sound engineer. Because of the quality of their equipment, BDR can go from the smallest private party to an outdoor festival without the slightest compromise in the soundjust right for any event, any venue.

Big Daddy Rhythm & the Heavyweights repertoire includes some of the most popular songs from a wide variety of genres. This makes them an excellent choice for even the most diverse audience. BDR covers classic soul, beach music, old rock & roll, blues, southern rock, 70s & 80s retro, and more. They do all these styles with absolute authenticityand the best part is that ITS ALL LIVE! Nothing is pre-recorded. Everything you hear is being played by someone you see on the stage.

Although the band is relatively new, the amount of experience on their stage is staggering. Members of BDR have performed with many of the legends in the music industry, either as an opening act or back-up band. Those artists include: Parliament, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Jerry Lee Lewis, Percy Sledge, The Crystals, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Cigar Store Indians, The Tokens, Starship, The Guess Who, Paul Revere & the Raiders, Chuck Jackson, Jerry Butler, Hermans Hermits, Ben E. King, Clarence Carter, Maurice Williams & the Zodiacs, The Stylistics, The Orioles, The Coasters, The Platters, The Drifters, The Clovers, and MANY others.

The audience is often as big a part of the show as the band. Their participation can come in the standard forms you might expect; dancing, clapping, and singing along. But, there are often opportunities for people to come right out of the crowd onto the stage for their 15 minutes of fame. The band lives for this stuff! Some of the most memorable moments on stage have been delivered courtesy of these special guests.

No matter when or where you have the opportunity to see Big Daddy Rhythm, dont pass it up. Each show brings something different, but its always fun, fresh, and entertaining. For a good time, call Big Daddy Rhythm & the Heavyweights.
