MOTHER OF PEARL Oh Darling (1979) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 25, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
I admit it: I like big dumb rock. AC/DC? Check. Stones? Check.

"Oh Darling" is plenty big, dumb and totally rocks! Written in 1976, this recording by MOTHER OF PEARL was the first after the marriage and departure of Jerrie Jo Jones, MOP’s long-time sultry singer. The boys rocked it, however, at Pantego Studios in Dallas at the end of 1979.

This MOP version is keyboardist Kim Snider, drummist Don Fischer and I'm on bass and lead vocals. Big Al Bettis lays down some slinky slide guitar to wrap up the whole thing.

BTW, concert photos are from a 1980 performance at Auditorium Shores on the banks of the Colorado River in Austin, Texas. Anyone know who took these?

Rock on!!
