#darbarfestival | Two of the UK’s finest Hindustani musicians perform the rare Raag Ahiri - a scale which rotates Raag Charukeshi (known as murchana/modality).

Harmeet Virdee is a leading British-based sitar exponent. He has performed on the BBC and at a range of leading festivals, and is also committed to teaching students and newcomers, leading Darbar’s Indian music appreciation courses. He has learnt his art from a young age from Dharambir Singh and then informal learning with Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Pandit Arvind Parikh and others.

Bhupinder Chaggar is among the UK’s finest tabla players. He studied under the renowned Sharda Sahai of the Benares gharana, and now teaches at the Leeds College of Music as well as collaborating widely, including flamenco, Portuguese folk, and hip-hop.
