Here is a fine little exercise, simple but extremely effective. Play Singles (RLRLRLRL), Doubles (RRLLRRLL) and Paradiddles (RLRRLRLL) - each rudiment first for 4 bars, then 2 bars and then 1 bar. Once you made it through all three rudiments jump from 1/8 notes to triplets, then to 1/32 notes if you can. USE ARM WRIST AND FINGER STROKES depending on the speed you are playing in.
REMEMBER: Having LOTS OF TECHNIQUE is a GREAT thing! Technique does not mean how FAST something works, but much rather simply HOW SOMETHING WORKS...
