The Wild Murphys' cover version of “Ordinary Man”, Written by Grimsby songwriter Peter Hames and made famous by Christy Moore who released it on an album of the same title in 1985.
The song has stood the test of time because sadly the lyrics, relating to hardship, unemployment and recession are as poignant and relevant here in the second decade of the new millennium as they were in the 80’s.

The Wild Murphy’s are regarded by many as "The best Irish group to never come from Ireland" - This surprisingly affordable group of reprobates are fast becoming the most popular Irish act in the UK and with good reason! The group was formed by the short, fat, enigmatic frontman, award winning vocalist and amazing story teller, Middi, who has been performing Irish music for the past 20 years.
The current line-up and format was formed in 2005 and to date has played to over 150,000 people, at more than 1700 venues, in 6 countries across the globe. In 2010 the Murphys came 3rd out of 38 groups competing for the title of international Irish group of the year in Las Vegas, USA. Their 3 summer seasons in Zakynthos, Greece was hailed as "The best Irish show Greece had ever witnessed" (HMERA News, Entertainment Review) They have extensively toured the UK, done gigs in Spain, Dubai and have also entertained for the armed forces of Germany, England and America.
