Tapestry Explorations: Revolutions - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 27, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
How perfect is our normal? Who among us wear the thickest most beautiful masks? Revolutions cracks the façade and pulls us into a chaotic unknown, where for the first time we know ourselves. Join us on the other side April 4th & 5th.

Tapestry Explorations (Tap:Ex) is trailblazing how opera is presented in the 21st century. Tap:Ex Revolutions explores the close relationship between physical and musical expression, working with Marie-Josée Chartier (contemporary dance), stage director Michael Mori, and four multitalented and athletic young opera singers, starring Neema Bickersteth, Andrea Ludwig, Adrian Kramer, and Andrew Love. "Revolutions" will test our appreciation of what we accept as stable, normal, and beautiful, and exposes what breakdown and chaos is set in motion when the façade is revealed.

Music from Bach to Rachmaninov, Meredith Monk to Andrew Staniland, and new pieces by Benton Roark and David Yee, will be guided under the wicked eye of keys-master and contemporary music bad boy, Gregory Oh. There is also a guest presentation from Ross Manson's Volcano Theatre: Excerpts from their work in progress A Moveable Beast.
