Martin Carr performs 'Bear Lake' for The Crypt Sessions

You know Martin Carr. Oh yes you do. As guitarist and songwriter of the Boo Radleys, he was responsible for some of the best music of the Britpop era, including the life affirming Wake Up! (Its A Beautiful Morning).

Since parting ways with the Boos, Martins performed and recorded in a number of guises, including The Black Serpent Choir, Bravecaptain anderMartin Carr. Hes also built himself a reputation as a leading graphic artist with his wonderful illustrations for Caitlin Morans column in The Times, while his website - www.martin-carr.com - proves him to be one of the most engaging bloggers on the net.

Sadly, the latest entry on his site suggests that Martin has made the gut-wrenching decision to stop performing and write songs for other singers instead. Like the rest of his fans, we live in hope that he has a change of heart one day. But the news means that this weeks Crypt Session, featuring Martin and his mellifluous backing singers, is particularly poignant. Enjoy.
