I was born in 1985 in Siracusa, Sicily. Loving & playing music since I was a child, I always record my music. My homemade recordings, collected periodically into albums, are available on free download around the web through my (no)netlabel Barbie Noja Records.
I play with Suzanne'Silver since 1996. Suzanne'Silver recorded their first autoproduced EP in december 2003 with Cesare Basile. Our first full-lenght "The Crying Mary" was recorded by Sacha Tilotta (Three Second Kiss) in august 2006, released in the US by Olympia based indipendent label Radio Is Down in april 2007 & promoted with a US tour in march 2008. In May 2010 we recorded our second lenght "Deadband" at Red House Recordings with David Lenci. "Deadband" will be out very soon for RID.
I played drums with La Petroliera in 2003, but five months later, after recording two albums, the band broke up.
In summer of 2005 I started to arrange in my own way Erik Satie's famous pieces for piano Gymnopedies. I finished my versions of Satie's Gnossiennes in december 2007.
I collaborated with many musicians from the east coast of Sicily. "The Wrost Problems Project" are recording sessions I organized for fun inviting some of these friends to record songs together using as lyrics the points of an article founded casually on Scaruffi's website.
In 2006 I formed "Redondo" with violinist Giovanni Fiderio (Mashrooms / Tapso II) & guitarist Vincenzo Tabacco (Poor Guitarman); a project to make music for short mute movies. We played live our compositions at "La Paura Mangia L'Anima - Rassenga Audio Non Fiction", "Etnafest 06", "Strade del Cinema 06"; this last show with the help of Mauro Felice (Suzanne'Silver) & Giuseppe Schillaci (Diane And The Shell).
During that year me and Tabacco recorded some songs as "Poor Guitarman & The Great Singer": some of them were lost for a pc crash, some are collected into an EP.
I singed for Giuseppe Sindona's (Albanopower) "Greta".
In summer I formed Tempestine with Lorenzo Urcillo (The Last Merendina / Albanopower); an acoustic/electric band to put on stage our homemade songs.
In 2007 I worked on soundtracks for documentaries (edited in France).
At the end of the year I formed Les Dix-huit Secondes with Lucia Urgese: a duo based on totally free improvisation and experimentation, inspired by Antonin Artaud.
In 2008 I enjoined Albanopower (42 Records).
My 2009 release Floppy Disk was acclaimed as one of the italian best albums of the year by sub-underground critics & web-zines.
In 2010 I finished to produce the first Loners album (Boom Devil Records) featuring the singer Salvo Rizzuto (Freedom Or Not / Sunshaker).
In November 2010 42 Records release a free download EP contained 5 songs (with a special compactcassette-lo-fi-mastering) from my upcoming album "Quarter Century".
In December "Quarter Century" will be out! It feature collaborations with members of Suzanne'Silver, Albanopower, Tellaro, Enablers, Captain Quentin, Camera 237, Diane And The Shell, Enablers, Wisdom Teeth, Skrunch & more.
