Peter Broggs - Cry Tuff / Hit Run Records - 1979 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 20, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
R.I.P Peter Broggs who died on the 19th December 2015.

Peter Broggs's 1979 debut single 'I A Field Marshall', recorded in Jamaica, and released on the Cry Tuff record label, produced by Prince Far I is one of my favourite reggae 7" singles.

Previously to 'Peter Broggs', Henry James, which is Brogg's real name, released a clutch of 7" singles on the Quarter Mile, Scorpio and MCM record labels for various producers in the mid to latter 1970's.

The 12" version of the record, released on Adrian Sherwood's Hit Run record label, and also released in 1979 for the British market, has the extended Prince Far I D.J cut added onto an already classic record.

For the audio on this YouTube post I have placed up the full six minute 12" Hit Run version of 'I A Field Marshall', now entitled 'Higher (I A) Field Marshall' for this British release) with the Prince Far I cut, but I have added a scan of my copy of the 7" single, along with a photograph of my 12" single for the visuals.

I have previously placed up two Hit Run Records YouTube posts on my channel.
