Joseph Spence Lesson - Happy Meeting - Free TAB - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 16, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Bahamian Joseph Spence was a master folk artist who developed a totally unique guitar style to express his largely religious repertoire. In 1958 folklorist Sam Charters recorded Joseph Spence's delightful rhytmic guitar improvisations (issued on the Folkways/Smithsonean label and still his best cd) and stirred up a great deal of interest among the folk music enthusiasts the world over.

You can also listen to it for free on Spotify.
Spence was an important influence on several mainstream artists like Ry Cooder, Taj Mahal and the Grateful Dead.

I learned the song, which is known under "Happy Meeting In Glory" or "Great Dream Of Heaven", from a Tom Ball recording

Tuning is, like all Spence's songs, drop D tuning DADGBE.
I based my playing on the parts of the tab that are marked in yellow; also know that I don't play it exactly as it is tabbed out..

I'm playing a 1925 Gibson L3 archtop
