Bad Boy Bumpus was one of many artists performing in the Texas Panhandle and West Texas area in the 1950's and 1960's. Rumors persist that he was shot by a jealous husband, but others say he married a wealthy woman and retired from the music business. While his personal history remains a mystery, he left behind a few scattered recordings of rockabilly, blues and novelty tunes. This one, "Lover Doll," is in the rockabilly style of that period.
