1. The use of soul and technology to investigate and establish truth in productivity and vanguardism.
The popular definition of a Blue Moon is the second full moon to occur in one single calendar month. Roughly every two and a half to three years apart. If we're lucky, the truly innovative reveal themselves to the world in this interval. With that in mind and records, needles and machetes in hand the team Audio Forensicks are forging a fresh a trail through the massed wilderness that is underground Hip Hop. These home grown frontiersmen are coming to a medium near you with drums on the brain and dusty vinyl on there breaths.
AND THE URBAN INTERVIEW BEGAN.
So just who are Audio Forensicks? The collaborative brain trust of ace Hip Hop producers Voodoo, Buck Russell, Kraven the Hunta and Lean Majorz.

"We are a collective of productive styles," explains Voodoo, from the depths of the Secret Stash Studios, that ruinous abyss from which their creativity hails, "What we make is a different approach to what We have come to know as Hip Hop".
San Antonio has been the back drop of this team, however it's influences are as wide ranging as the their talents. Coming from four completely different walks of life, how these cats found each other and evolved together has proven to be a tale well worth hearing. All four members of the squad have been in the San Antonio scene since the early 90's and had the privilege of that era, which was the next movement in the history of rap music.
"We're not only producers. We're engineers as well. Bonz is a DJ and we're all emcees," says Buck Russell as he puffs a menthol. And indeed all of these cats have been doing their thing for some time. Voodoo as part of San Antonio's own Makai, named after a Japanese anime version of hell. Since then he has had his hands into the process. Buck Russell has been a staple of the local battle circuit since the Wacky's Battles of '98 and '99. His emcee moniker is Manafes and from battles to tracks this man has laced the game like arsenic. Lean Majorz a.k.a. DJ BonZ McCoy has been dissecting records and tinkering in melodic alchemy since 47 Sci-Fi Nickels, the landmark mixtape of 99 while going by DJ Orgees. Kraven, as well, holds a microphone in the sure hands of Dr. Kno, the evil vernacular manufacturer.
"We make good music and help others to concoct ill shit," explains Buck. "We are here to blow cats heads off with the fresh shit we be doing, " says Kraven as he alternately fingers and sharpens his shuriken". "Somebody Farted!" Majorz blurts out and goes back to juggling copies of Mad Villain's America's Most Blunted.
If you are what you eat, then it stands to reason that one is, musically, what one ingests. When asked what heads interested in producing can do get started, the first words out of everyone's mouths were clear: You got to listen to mad different types of music.
"You got to listen to different types of music. No music is new music and there is value in all music. Listen to it once and then listen to it on a whole new level. Hear what is classic and then strive to be a classic. Don't do the Easy, man. Too many do that and it sounds lazy," says Voodoo.
Never a slouch, the Audio Forensicks team has been very busy over that last couple of years and has added some real meat to the old resume. Within their own camp, AF has produced tracks for local artists like Manafes' Human Highlight and Audio Classic, Apaso's Thinking Out Loud, DJ Bonz McCoy's F.U. Mixtape volumes 1 & 2, Doc GonZo's debut album Duckin the Blas (on Counter Productive Records) and the sick psycho bloodlusters The Brothers Gein. Not to mention tracks produced for some of Countdown City's finest: Astex, M-Wiggy, Ruin, 7 Ish, Stealth Entity, D1, Lawjick, Prone, Biko and Super Smash Brothas.
With all this music spilling over, one might ask what the future holds for the lawless producers.
"We want to take it to a new level, the highest level. We want to put out absurd amounts of music," says Kraven the Hunta.
"We want to create the new and be the pulse. We want to stay one step ahead of the game so that in ten years they listening to what we're doing now like, 'Damn, these cats were way ahead of they time".
"Man, this isn't Ambercrombie & Fitch. We ain't snackin on apple fritters and we still stay flyer than the Air Force in Afghanistan. This is Audio Forensicks, nah mean, and if you haven't heard us yet, just wait a few seconds," says Buck Russell.
And there you have it. Keep your eyes peeled for the Audio Forensicks team online @ www.myspace.com/audioforensicks. Stay tuned as well for the next phase in the AF production, which will be taking the form of videos and movie shorts. "It's gonna be word bootie. We are branching into video, hopefully some movies. Get into all types of producing and just branch. We really believe in this Audio Forensicks thing and, God willing, we will be victorious," says Lean Majorz. Whatever the future holds, expect to hear innovation at every turn and skill in every move.
Furious Styles was off in Ground Zero Texas during this interview. But he was like word.
