„Symbiont(s)" on Wayne McGregori 2000. aastal Londoni Kuningliku Balleti tellimusel valminud lavastus, mis ühendab endas stiililisi äärmusi. Teos keskendub seitsmele tantsijale loodud mõistatusele, millest igaüks esitab väljakutse klassikalisele tantsutehnikale. Laval toimuvat saadab leegitsev valguse ja varjude mäng, mille on loonud tuntud valguskujundaja Lucy Carter.
Wayne McGregor on esimene kaasaegne koreograaf, kes on valitud Londoni Kuningliku Balleti resideeruvaks koreograafiks. Wayne McGregori koreograafia kompab kehakeele väljenduslikkuse piire, kuid ei varjuta hetkekski tantsijate individuaalsust. Originally created for The Royal Ballet in 2000, "Symbiont(s)" is a hybrid work of stylistic extremes. Centered around a series of enigmatic puzzles for seven dancers, each subverting and challenging the classical technique, this fascinating work is set in a blazing environment of light and shadow by renowned lighting designer Lucy Carter.
Wayne McGregor, the first contemporary choreographer to be the Resident Choreographer of the Royal Ballet, challenges the language of movement without allowing his zeal for experimentation to overshadow the individuality of his dancers. "Symbiont(s)" haunting beauty won the Time Out Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance.
100% sizzle, the most vivid ballet choreography to be seen in a long, long time. Dangerous, compelling, fast and extreme. Utterly splendid.
