C’est à l’age de six ans que Laurent ASSOULEN entre au Conservatoire National de Région (CNR) de Lyon .
Dix années plus tard, il écoute et comprend que le jazz est la forme la plus adaptée à sa liberté de penser.
Il reprend ses études musicales et réintègre le CNR de Lyon (section Jazz) pour étudier avec Mario STANCHEV. Il en ressort 3 ans plus tard, diplômé…
Amoureux des sons, il étudie, en parallèle, les Langues Etrangères à la Faculté de Lyon (LEA).
Amoureux définitivement des sens dans leur globalité, sa vie professionnelle s’oriente finalement autour des essences… Il travaille alors pendant plusieurs années dans la création de parfums.
Au bureau, la journée, il imagine avec ses parfumeurs, des fragrances pour les grandes marques. La nuit, c’est sur son piano qu’il rêve et compose, encore imbibé des « mouillettes » de la journée.
Avec son premier album « Reasonances », très bien accueilli par la presse (« Disque D’émoi » Jazz Magazine, « MUST » TSF), « Artiste Fnac », « Artiste MIDEM 2008 », il revient 2 ans après sur sa passion du parfum avec laquelle il étudie les correspondances sonores.
Il décide de mettre en parfum ses propres compositions musicales.
Le premier concert parfumé, dans toute sa légitimité, est né. Premier du genre, il est une nouvelle fois très bien accueilli par la presse qui souligne l’idée novatrice, appuyée par la sortie du premier album parfumé « MUSIsCent », une approche surprenante et originale (www.musiscent.com)
Les concerts parfumés se succèdent et, dans cette nouvelle énergie créatrice, il enregistre son nouvel album : MUSC.

It is at the six years age that Laurent Assoulen enters to the National Conservatory of Lyon.
Ten years later, he understands that the jazz is the form most adapted to his freedom of thinking.
Following that, it resumes its musical studies and reinstates the Conservatory of Lyon (Jazz section) to study with Mario STANCHEV. He comes out 3 years from it later, graduate.
In love with the sounds, he studies, in parallel, the Foreign Languages at the University of Lyon (LEA). Definitively in love with the senses in their globality, his professional life is directed finally around the perfumes. He then becomes key account manager in an international company for creation of perfumes.
He is starting then his double life.
At the office, the day, he imagines with his perfumers, fragrances for the brands, the night it is on his piano that he dreams and composes, still inspired by his "perfumed blotters" of the day.
With his first album « reasonances », warmly welcomed by the press (MIDEM Artist 2008 and FNAC Artist) he comes back, 2 years later to his passion of perfume by analysing the musical correspondances.
He creates, with the company Givaudan, perfumes on the base of his own musical compositions.
The first perfumed concert is born (www.musiscent.com).
He is, once again, warmly welcomed by the press which underlines the novelty and creativity of this project, highlighted by the first perfumed cd « MUSIsCent », with 5 perfumes in it.
Many « perfumed concerts » in different places in France which pushes his creativity into the recording of his next album : MUSC
