Now.

Rising from the lowest depths of the San Francisco underground metal scene, the scourge that was Artificium Sanguis performed raw and unhinged Black Metal with a take-no prisioners approach and an undercurrent of sardonic humor often sorely missed in the, all-too-serious and self absorbed black metal scene. ::::::::::::::

Artificium Sanguis was started in 2000 as a side project by shredder Sean McGrath (Impaled / Ghoul) and Leon Del Muerte (Phobia/ Exhumed / Intronaut fame), with Sean on guitars and Leon on drums. The band was solidified when they recruited Rob Williams ( Hadan/ Black Goat) and brothers Mike and Matt Luque (Matt now w/100 Suns ) to fill in the rest of the pieces of the grim puzzle:::::::::::::

Within a few months they put together 5 songs and set of to blaze a trail of live destruction. Sharing the stage with the likes of bands such as High on Fire, Asunder, and Lynard Skynyard. Artificium Sanguis built a reputation as a go-for the-throat live beast that was at once unpredictable and striking. Known for it's wild, visceral, performances that sometimes teetered on the verge of implosion It was a band that challenged it's attending captives to move one step beyond, or move out of the way::::::::::::

After band members Sean (Vermithrax) and Rob ( Vov ) passed on to other realms in the varied depths of the abyss, a new line up was solidified with Adam Bhukkannasut ( Drakk ) on vokills, Leon ( Glum / Gloom ) on drums, Mike (Doom) on bass and Matt ( Fyist ) on guitar::::::::::

With this new conglomeration of miscreants Artificium Sanguis laid down their first recording . the infamous and often misunderstood CD "Ye Olde Demo Taype". "Ye Olde Demo Taype" showed a strong and furious debut, sounding more than the sum of it's parts. Recorded by the band themselves on two microphones during a live practice - with vocal and 2nd guitar overdubs added later - it stands as a clear portrait of the Artificium Sanguis way. dark, direct, destructive, and always to the point :::::::::::

In 2005, after a tumultuous period of time in which Leon left to (re)join the ranks of gore grind legends Exhumed, the band started on recording their 2nd opus that was to be titled "Olde Dyrt Hand". With skin shredding madman, Rot (Nevine from Animocity), on board. Art-Sang then put down 4 tracks to what was to be a 7 song recording. However, due to a multitude of unfortunate reasons and events only one of these tracks was completed and has seen the light of day - "And Yes. Conquest!".:::::::::::

This track with it's see-sawing structure and dynamics, furious drum showcasing, bliztkrieg guitars, and unpredictable but tight vocals showed a more focused and progressed black metal beast:::::::::

Artificium Sanguis are no more, but their music lives eternally for those who dare to brave the wild waters borne by this unique band of muscians:::::::::::

As apathy, pretense, and complacency are the disease. Artificium Sanguis were, indeed - the cure>>>>>>>>>>>
