ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO Theme De Yoyo - Video
PUBLISHED:  Sep 09, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Love this opening track, a fine fusion of Funk and Avant-garde Jazz, featuring the two saxes of Joseph Jarman and Roscoe Mitchell combined with Lester Bowie's trumpet, Don Moye on Drums with Malachi Favors on Bass. The only female in the band is the legendary Fontella Bass {Rescue Me} on Vocals & Piano.
Check how the drummer and bassist lay the Funk foundation from the very opening as the Horns build and lift the tune to the Sky!
Jazz with total Freedom!. Recorded in Boulogne July 22, 1970.

Lyrics :
Your head is like a yoyo,
your neck is like the string,
Your body's like a camembert
oozing from its skin.

Your fanny's like two sperm whales
floating down the Seine
Your voice is like a long fart
that's music to your brain.

Your eyes are two blind eagles
that kill what they can't see
Your hands are like two shovels
digging in me.

And your love is like an oil-well
Dig, dig, dig, dig it,
On the Champs-Elysees.
