DESCRIPTION:
This set by Paul van Dyk & Kid Paul has been recorded at a Dubmission party in the club Planet in May 1992.

Dubmission was a popular party series in Berlin which started in March 1991 in the club Turbine (who remembers the location in Glogauer Str.?). Dubmission was a club in club concept and traveled over the years through many of Berlin's locations such as Turbine, Quartier Latin, Planet (the first locations), WMF and other. The Dubmission DJ - pool did consist out of Kid Paul, Paul v. Dyk, Marcos Lopez, Dr. Motte, Tanith, Jonzon and Ellen Allien. From 1992 on the Dubmission parties went more and more into the direction of trance.

Paul Van Dyk was also one of the very influencial and great DJs in the early 90's and is now one of those superstar DJs. Kid Paul is something special. At the age of 13 he released a acid house tune in 1988 and he was one of the first acid/techno DJs in Berlin. He was a kid DJ managed by his mother. At this Dubmission party he was just 17 years old.

"Planet" was a legendary techno club in Berlin. Planet opened its doors around May 1991 in Köpenicker Str. 50/52 in Berlin-Mitte. This first (illegal) location was only used for a couple of months before Planet moved to its second location in Alt-Stralau. The time between the first and the second location was filled with special parties, such as the 2 boat parties and the bunker party (check out video footage from "Erich Fertig" here on youtube). Planet moved back to its first location in summer 1992 (hope I remember those dates right) and stayed there until early 1993 before the Planet crew did open the E-Werk at the Wilhelmstr. 43.
