Bio By She Rox All Female Bands:Aroarah began in 2001 while still in highschool, based out of Sacramento,California with sisters Mackenzie Knoester on drums and Morgan Knoester on guitar, along with Lydia Gavin on guitar and lead vocals and Chelsea Baker on bass. The band would release several demos before releasing thier debut Ep in 2005, self titled, it gained the band a large local following for thier unique blend of modern rock and punk flares and even won local music awards for thier talent, being featured in a 2005 edition of Rolling Stone magazine only furthur the band's notoriety. By the late 2000's Aroarah found themselves touring nationally and even landed a spot in the widely successful Van's Warp Tour. By 2010 they added additonal guitarist, Liani Moore, who would also serve as the band's second lead vocalist, violinist and keyboardist, now a five piece they would fluctuate from this to a quartet with original lead vocalist and guitarist Lydia Gavin taking a break from the band not long after the band was working on a album of new material that was never released. Aroarah called it a day after a long run and announced they were on a hiatus, each of the members continue on in various solo and other band projects and talk of a reunion has been mentioned leaving die hard fans once again hungry for real music from these talented women that never quite got all the recognition that they really should have.
