May 26 -- 30 American jazz project «New York Jazz Trio feat. Arlee Leonard» is giving 4 concerts in Ukraine: in Crimea (Yalta, Sevastopol, Simferopol) and in Kyiv
All of the members of the group are working New York jazz musicians from different
backgrounds. Arlee Leonard started her singing career in Detroit. Drummer Willard Dyson came to New York from California. Bassist Essiet Essiet is of Nigerian descent, and pianist Misha Tsiganov landed in the U.S. from Saint Petersburg. Many newcomers get lost among the thousands of musicians that come to conquer New York every year, but these four thrived -- becoming integral players in the Big Apple's vibrant jazz scene. Each of them has performed in legendary jazz New York hotspots, playing and recording with some of the biggest jazz stars like These quintessentially New York jazz musicians are coming to Ukraine on the invitation of the Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine, as the part of a new annual «American Music Series». This program will showcase different styles and genres of American music in Ukraine.
