DESCRIPTION:
Watch one of the best living singer-songwriters accompanied by a tight band, strings, brass and woodwinds - 33 minutes of stunning audio and video quality. This concert has been the result of a unique cooperation between an amazing artist and his management, a university, a concert organizer, a video production company and countless unpaid volunteers on and off stage. Thank you all for making this happen!

Backstory:
After having worked out Ari Hest's timeless song 'Cranberry Lake' in a band seminar I held at the University of Kassel/Germany during winter in 2010, me and my students watched Ari play in Marburg. After a beer or two I came up with the idea to create orchestral parts for some of his greatest songs together with my students and present them with Ari "himself" in a concert.

What back then sounded like a bold idea that would most likely drown in more drinks, turned out to be one of the best ideas I ever had:

On October, 22nd in 2011 - not even 11 months later - we actually went on stage with Ari Hest and played 18 arrangements with him in both a band- and an orchestral instrumentation. We were up to 18 musicians on stage, had 6 cameras running and laid down 20 tracks of audio. Amongst them are in my opinion some of the best recordings Ari has ever done in his life (check out his awesome solo encores, too!).

Countless hours of mixing and editing later I can now say:
