DESCRIPTION:
The biblical story of Ruth, set to music by Ronald Beckett on a libretto by Roger Bayley. This was a completely new direction for Arcady by moving into the modern world of serial music. Staged with a modernized 'Greek' chorus adapted to stage concepts influenced from the early days of the Toronto Dance Theatre, the stylization contrasts with principal characters who are allowed to function in a normal stage manner.
