DESCRIPTION:
Johnny Flynn plays a new song, The Lady is Risen, live at Rough Trade East for Record Store Day 2012.

Johnny played two sets at the East London branch of Rough Trade.

The main set, inside the store, featured two new songs and a great selection of Johnny's best-loved work, including Brown Trout Blues, The Water, Been Listening, The Box and Tickle Me Pink.

Johnny then announced that he would be playing again outside the store, as a large number of people had not been able to get in. What a nice guy!

The second, totally unplugged, set included Johnny's tribute to the late Levon Helm of The Band, who had passed away two days earlier, a beautiful rendition of Churlish May and a second, mass sing-along, performance of Tickle Me Pink.

A Bag of Hammers (Transgressive) features 10 brand new tracks from Johnny Flynn and was released as a limited edition vinyl on the 21st April 2012 exclusively for Record Store Day.

A Bag of Hammers is the soundtrack from the as yet unreleased film of the same name directed by Brian Crano, and starring Rebecca Hall & Jason Ritter. Rebecca Hall! Hurry up and release that movie people!
