All Star Orchestra: In The Shade Of The Old Apple Tree (Concertone Records) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Apr 18, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
Concertone was a cheap budget label that reissued material from the Royale label, which were in turn used as the masters to make other of the later Oberstein releases such as Halo and Ultraphonic and a couple others. I believe this is a 1956 release, as that is what the Concertone back slicks state. This album features to contents of the B sides of 1600 ( That Boogie Beat) for the A side, and the contents of 1514 (Rockin' Rhythm). The first side of the album features all the songs listed on the jacket, the second side's label lacks any song titles, it only has the mass artist credit nothing else. The sound quality is very poor in places (as a good majority of Oberstein releases are), half the album sounds like it came from the 40's (which most of these come from the late 40's to very early 50's as new information has revealed, still it wasn't a bad guess). The whole record is a recycle job from the Royale label mostly, the jacket that my copy has features a paste over of the 1203 (Mozart music), mystery solved by the fact it was printed on the back. The record is made up of two different Royale releases B sides (1600 Boogie Beat and 1514 title unknown).

The generic All Star Orchestra release is just a fake name for an R&B sax tenor named Freddie Mitchell, I you have never heard him before here is your chance. Oberstein legally obtained these recordings as he bought them from the record label he (Freddie) bankrupted when he left it for Mercury records. I thought this album was produced under less the favorable legal circumstances , but I was wrong. I hope you take that as proof that you always need to do your research before accusing anyone of anything.
