DESCRIPTION:
In 2005 Bob James launched a legendary Jazz Cruise that sailed the Mexican Riviera and hosted some of the brightest newcomers and most legendary icons in jazz and pop/R&B. The seas were rather rough, and EVERYONE was seasick, and definitely not on their games, but everyone got through the unofficial, but very apropos 'theme song' heard here, Maiden Voyage.

Besides the magnanimous and prolific host, Bob presented his opening night concert with his mates from Fourplay (Nathan East, Harvey Mason, Robben Ford), his talented brother in-law Kevin DiSimone, Santana stalwart Michael Carabello, studio sax whiz Tom Scott, and up-and-comers drummer Sergio Bellotti and trumpeter Gabriel Mark Hasselbach.
Iconic SoCal broadcaster Kelly Cole was also on board, hosting a mc-ing.

Other luminaries on board for the cruise included R&B vocalist Michael McDonald, Cold Blood saxist Rob Zuckerman, studio bassist Neil Stubenhaus, Robben's wife, singer Anne Kerry Ford, veteran pianist Dan Seigel, Santana alum Greg Rolie, ubiquitous bassist Alfonso Johnson, and many more ....
