DESCRIPTION:
More than 40 years ago, my piano teacher and mentor Carl Johnson wrote this beautiful piece that is part of a larger cantata called Freedom After'while, and as a young teen I had the honor, along with three other girls, to sing this beautiful piece in performance at our childhood church. I have often had in the WAY back of my mind the idea of some day recording it. Well, I finally did. I owe everything that I am as a person of music to Carl. Early on in my life, thanks to my parents, and to people like Carl Johnson, I was exposed to history, the harshness of history, and the lessons to be learned from history. This song is such a lesson. For Carl.
