Andy Jay’s first break in the djing world was in 1992 at a night called the Basement, his style of djing was inspired by music being played at the biggest underground night in the north “Sunnys”.



Over the following years the scene started to develop up North with the support of leading nightclubs such as Whips, the Lodge, Dendos and After hours. Their success was through the support of pioneering Dj’s such as Andy Jay, Dj Handz, Marvin Swiftfinger G, and Oris Jay. At that time leading producers where Mk,Masters At Work and Todd Edwards.



1996 was the year that would map out the future for Andy jay when he also met his now long time friend Timmi Magic (who later became one third of the Dreemteem). The scene had now began to change with the introduction of UK Garage, predominantly being driven by Tuff Jam “Karl Tuff enuff brown” and “Matt Jam Lamont” with there smash hit `Experience`. Andy Jay was on top of the game hosting a weekly radio show on Love100 promoting the new sounds and building his career even further.



1997 saw Andy Jay at the fore front of UK garage playing at the UK’s biggest event, `Fantazia: The Return of a Legend` playing to over 12,000 people supported by Garage Nation, MTV and Lynx. http://www.myspace.com/fantaziamusic



Andy Jay’s Profile was generating interest amongst the ever growing UK Garage scene with his diary becoming ever full with DJ gigs for all major club promoters in the UK: 7 Wonders, Twice as Nice, Sun City, Rinse city, Stush, Garage Nation, Harmony, Erotica, and Promised Land to name but a few!

By 1998 Andy Jay along with Mystic Matt, The Dreem teem, Mike ruffcutt loyd, Pied Piper, Tuff Jam, 7 Wonders, Psg and Dt had featured in various media Journals including DJ Magazine and Arena promoting the new sound of UK Garage “2 Step”. Finally UK garage had support from major record labels and saw the release of the “Made Great in Great Britain” Album on Tony Portelli’s Label 4 Liberty http://www.myspace.com/musicindustryrawbook.



Over the next couple of years as well as djing Andy Jay established himself on the production team of 7 Wonders with Zed Bias, Injekta, Principle, Juiceman and Lipton with there debut smash hit `Crazy` on DFL Records selling over 10,000 copies and had air play by Kiss FM, Galaxy FM, Choice and all the Pirate Stations. He featured on Radio 1 and Galaxy FM , released CD’s featuring Mc DT, Lipton, Juiceman and 8 Ball and in 1999 went on to set up the UK Garage Section of Forth Wave Records to help up and coming DJ talent such as DJ Kristal, DJ Q & Jammy D to obtain records that at that time weren’t available outside of London .
