Saline Fiddlers Giliese 581D - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 01, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Saline Fiddlers performing "Giliese 581D" at their Winter 2012 Hometown concert. "Giliese 581D" was written by University of Michigan Music School graduate and accomplished bass player Andrew Kratzat. It is about travelling to a real planet named Gliese 581 d that scientists believe may support life and the hope it offers. Andrew always pronounced the name "Gil-leeze" and sent the music file to us with the title spelled as noted so, in his honor, the alternate spelling of the planet name is our title for song.

Andrew and his fiancee', Alicia, were critically injured in an automobile accident the summer of 2011. Saline Fiddlers recorded this tune in his honor. It will be on our 10th music CD produced this year and on iTunes. All sales of the iTunes version will go to him to help with his medical care costs.
