The album tells the story of Tyler & Earl as brothers. Tyler meets a girl who is in a relationship with Sam and is focused on being with her despite Sam's aggressive nature. Soon after, Tyler realizes Earl is on drugs and notices the bad things that he has been doing which leads to the brothers getting into a heated argument. Tyler is a bit harsh about Earl's depression and his problems. Because of this, Earl goes into an even deeper depression and runs away. As Earl runs away he runs into Sam who kills him as a warning to Tyler of his actions. The following is Tyler coping with the loss of Earl, the resentment of his actions towards Earl and OF, his revenge on Sam, and one last message to his little brother Earl.
