Ana Leorne was born in Oporto, where she developed the most part of her work as a visual artist. In 2007 she graduated in Fine Arts, exploring mainly the cinema and video areas, connecting them with her work as a musician and female and gender issues.
Her stage life took off in 2004, when her first band, ROPE, where she is responsible for vocals and guitar, made their first tour in Portugal - the Purely High Tour.
It was also in 2004 that she first met Carlos Martins,who invited her to do vocals for his band UMPLETRUE, in a song called Such A Good Deed, which was released in 2007 in UMPLETRUE's first album, Fab Fight. In 2006-2007 Ana Leorne started her activities in THE CLITS with Carlos Martins, touring in Portugal alone and with the German band SUSPICIOUS. THE CLITS have released their first EP, "The World Is A Mess But My Hair Is Perfect - THE CLITS EP" in 2007 and are currently preparing new material which should be available soon
She lived in Lisbon for about a year, while taking her masters' degree in Communication - Film Studies, and spent the last six months in Paris writing her thesis as a researcher and exchange student at La Sorbonne.
Beside these projects, Ana is developing a new one - ANNETTE BLADE -, also with Carlos Martins, and dividing her time between music and other areas where she can work as an activist for women's rights and gender equality issues, as well as in art and cinema theory.
She currently lives in Lisbon.
