Genna Apo Kolo (Γέννα Από Κώλο stands for anal birth in greek) is a brutal death metal band in the vein of Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse, originating from Thessaloniki, Greece. It all started when Orestis (guitars) and Nick (drums) met back in 2005. They started playing death metal cover songs with the help of John Triantafyllidis on vocal duties. After a while he decided to leave the band and John Kalouptsis (guitarist of trash metal band Drunkard) took over the vocalist's place. After a year of rehearsals and some live shows, the "Antitrendy Attack" CD was recorded with the help of sound engineer Michael Ziogas. After a 4 year hiatus, the CD was finally released in 2010 by Razorbleed Productions (www.razorbleed.cjb.net). The band started rehearsing both new and old songs again and recruited Chris and Jim on vocal and bass duties respectively. They are currently rehearsing new songs for their upcoming and still untitled cd as well as preparing for some live shows. The purpose of the band is to create straightforward, in your face brutality exclusively.
