Amityville Horror is a series of horror films based on and around Amityville and a haunted house. None of the films are direct sequels to each other. The continuity is done in a different style. Amityville 1-4 are one series, while Part 4 takes place before Part 3, and Part 2 taking place before Part 1. Amityville 5 is independent as well as Next Generation and Doll House. Although The Next Generation deals with the son of a fictional character based On Ronald Defeo Jr. The remake is based from the first film. 1 and 4 are the only two films based on books in the book series.
