DESCRIPTION:
Mark Erlewine & Billy Gibbons Design.
Famed for being in the opening amp scene with Michael J. Fox / Marty McFly in Back To The Future. Co-designer Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top is featured with one in many 1980's promotional pieces and a number of contemporary guitarists have one in their collection. Even the legendary Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap sported a fetching baby blue Chiquita (see Rock'n'Roll Creation).
Often perceived as a toy or novelty guitar by non-guitarists, this is very much a fully functioning and viable instrument. Just smaller.
These little electric guitars from Texas are still being produced by Mark Erlewine. erlewineguitars.com (I have no official affiliation or business interests - I'm just a big fan of his work)
Featured in the video is the yellow finish version.
The segments of 'songs' have deliberately been adapted to avoid copyright infringement.
Video recorded by a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-WX220 in 1080p 50fps (cropped screen).
Audio recorded by a (half-dead) Samson C01U and the camera mic.
Guitar----Amp
Uni-vibe pedal used in two of the sections. Other sections are guitar straight into amp.
The mistakes are all my own work.
