Not much is known about Altered States except that it shares two members with Japanese noise-rock project Ground Zero: Drummer Yasuhiro Yoshigaki, and guitarist Uchihashi Kazuhisa. Together with Mitsuru Nasuno on bass, they managed to create one of the wildest trips into psychedelia. 40 minutes of dirty sounding and crazy jam tracks, and then the final 29 minute segmented masterpiece that is Suite Circle to top off this menage of goodness. It's jazzy, it's noisy, it's groovy, it's black, and even beautifully ponderous in some moments amidst the chaos.
