On one hand the song can speak for a lot about love, but really it goes deeper than that. Reading through the lyrics as it describes specifically, I don't feel that its meant to be a metaphor for something else.

I think he's really dreaming that he's confined and being kept away from the one he loves, dreaming about her. He knows its fake, and along with this the women is too. And he prays that he finds her. So I assume he's just looking for the love of his life and preys, dreams, just to expand his life.
