Alison's sleeve notes: "My Mellow Candle co-founder Clodagh Simonds wrote "Reverend Sisters" about the nuns at the convent school we attended. This was where our musical journey began. This song is my take on their influence and encouragement, which brought us ultimately to the making of [Mellow Candle's] 'Swaddling Songs' in London. It is filled with rich Catholic imagery and was penned with Kevin Scott of the Canadian band Mr. Pine. Kevin has captured a Mellow Candle feel in the writing of his piano part."
