Burgundy Street Blues Jazz Improvisation on Clarinet - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 01, 2013
DESCRIPTION:
This is my homage to the great New Orleans clarinet player George Lewis, who composed this most unusual, haunting twelve-bar blues. This is a direct cover, not improvised, but learned note for note by ear as near as I can manage from George's original recording. I urge you to listen to George's moving version. Played on my old Albert system clarinet made by Borgani in Italy. George Lewis is responsible for hundreds, if not thousands of jazz clarinet players around the world who were inspired to play clarinet after hearing him. I am one of those. If you want to play along to this backing track, I've posted it elsewhere on this channel.
