Otis Goes Postal
Otis Convalesces
Otis Takes It On the Lam
Otis at The Wheel
Here's a synopsis of the 4 Otis songs from my friend Django. Thanks, Django !
!Django Bohren So the Otis songs are all linked by one unhinged main character.

The first song, Otis Goes Postal, was released by Alex's band, Royal Fingerbowl, in 1997. It tells the story of a postal worker who kidnaps a woman and eventually confronts the swat team.

The second song is Otis Convalesces, and was released on the Tin Men album Super Great Music for Modern Lovers. Otis is in the mental hospital. He's promising the nurse that he'll be good and not try to bite her nose off again. He finds a wrench.

The third song, Otis Takes It On The Lam, used to be my favorite. It's on Alex's amazing 2009 solo album "How to be a Cannonball." Otis has escaped the hospital and is convincing a little kid to run away with him and join the circus ("...I will teach you how to be a cannonball/I will place the net precisely where you'll fall..."). The circus seems to maybe be all in Otis' head.

The fourth song sometimes takes over as my favorite. Otis At The Wheel from Alex's 2012 album, I Will Never Be Alone In This Land, shows us Otis driving an out-of-control circus train with a new woman, the circus strong man and the little boy from Otis Takes It On The Lam. He's set the stock car on fire, opened up the door and is barreling through the Florida night, ready for heaven.
