Since their inception in 2011, Sydney’s RISE OF AVERNUS quickly became a well-known entity throughout the metal scene, with two critically acclaimed releases under their belts and a third currently on its way.
Within the short timeframe since the release of their 2012 debut EP, they’ve relentlessly toured the country several times, supporting some major international acts along the way such as APOCALYPTICA, ENSLAVED, PRONG, SEPTICFLESH, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, ROTTING CHRIST, and MNEMIC, to name a few.

Performing a unique style deriving from many different genres, the band can be best described as ‘Orchestral
Progressive Doom Metal’. This distinctive styling which they demonstrated on their debut full length album, ‘L’appel du Vide’, gained them considerable label attention worldwide and they signed with Italian label Aural Music/code666 who released the album internationally in January 2014.

In March 2015, RISE OF AVERNUS will be releasing a new EP worldwide through their label, which will see the band once again tour intensively as they support the new material. Upon its release, 2015 is set for Rise of Avernus’ biggest yet!
