Original Swing/Big Band track recorded by TONIC Vintage Vocals for their self-titled debut CD. This tongue-in-cheek nod to Film Noir was stylistically written as a humorous tribute to Dashiell Hammett's famous character, Sam Spade as a private dick tracks a blonde and stolen diamond through the seedy underbelly of 1940s Film Noir Los Angeles.

Steve & Karen Multer (ASCAP, AEA, Dramatists Guild) are two-time winners of the Billboard World Song Contest (Jazz,) three-time winners in the Great American Song Contest (Variety,) have received radio airplay in over 150 jazz and A/C markets worldwide, are featured on 3 SONY/BMG compilation disc releases, and are 10-time ASCAPlus Award recipients (2005-2014.) They've licensed songs for TV and film including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS), Entourage (HBO), and Legally Blondes (MGM/ABC.) Two full-length original studio albums with vocal jazz quartet, TONIC, were hailed by Variety, Jazz Review, AMG, Cy Coleman, and Alan & Marilyn Bergman.
Multer & Multer are Dramatist Guild Fellows (2011 Chicago) and Steve was a finalist for the 2014 Keban Prize (Lyrics.) Their first original musical, code name: CYNTHIA, received its premiere production in summer 2015 with Pallas Theatre Collective in Washington, D.C. was featured in the 2015 Kennedy Center Page-to-Stage Festival, and had a special performance at the International Spy Museum where the project was inspired. The team’s new original musical, Buried in Prosperity, begins development in spring 2016.
