Alfaress aka Colonel born in Rabat, Morocco on August 28, 1979 as Abderrahim Dahr. Alfaress is the middle child of five brothers. He was raised in a small disadvantaged neighborhood surrounded by palaces and villas. As a child the differences to Alfaress were clear and yet hard to understand. As he began to mature and grow he realized these differences were part of the real life.

Alfaress grew up as a regular Moroccan kid playing soccer in the street and playing marbles with his friends. He attended El Jamaa for his pre-school and ultimately received his degree in special education after high school.

At a young age Alfaress was mesmerized by African American music. This fast talking music was magical for him and his desire to learn more and more became an obsession for him. Baggy clothes and “smurfin” was what inspired Alfaress to be a part of the world of hip hop.

Remixing lyrics from traditional Moroccan songs to the flow of hip hop music and free styling everyday situations inspired Alfaress to pursue writing and creating his own style.

After meeting Othmane, a friend who shared his same desire of hip hop music and the African American history, they developed a kingship, along with his brother Yussef, Fawaz , Said and Fatiwiz This crew knew more about the hip hop culture than most and studied endlessly regarding the history vs. making a rap band.

Wu Tang Clan; Mobb Deep, Nas, Dr. Dre, Naughty by Nature, Dead Prez, MOP and many more continued to influence the group and allowed them to participate in several events and concerts where they had the opportunity to express themselves.

Two years after working together they decided to go their separate ways and Alfaress continued with his passion for hip hop. He then met Sharman (Wouldchaab) who had the same passion and interest in hip hop. As a result the group Capital Clan was formed along with Alfaress, Smooth Soulja, Pyton and Rap Weapon.

Capital Clan produced their first project called “Capital Clan Volume I” which was a mixtape that became a great success back in the day. Since that time they a freestyle featuring PestPro from Rabat which raised the bar of the hip hop movement in Morocco.

The group continued to work on several projects, features, concerts, freestyles, competitions, etc., and Sharman and Alfaress made the decision to work together as a team. This collaboration produced the solo mixtape of Alfaress called Katiba Tania and the EP Ghetto Stars which became popular with those in the hip hop industry in Morocco.

Because Alfaress is always pursuing the diversity in hip hop music, he decided to join PenPower with Smooth Soulja (Askri Dlam). We produced the underground album Base 11/50 which had a variety of songs that described the politics, street, religion and different topics that gave us the respect in the game.

.

Alfaress produced under the name of PenPower his mixtape called Maa sabk al israr…Alfaress and Smooth Soulja produced a collaboration with a metal group from Switzerland under the name of Elmizan.

.

PenPower received a lot of notoriety from their collaborations and participated in international projects. The biggest accomplishment for PenPower was being invited to be interviewed and perform on national television. Alfaress continued to work with PenPower until his departure to the United States.

Alfaress decided it was time to promote new ideas and went on to pursue his solo career and work with different producers in the industry. He collaborated with BIGG on his album, Mgharba Tal Mout, which Bladi Blad became one of the biggest hits in Morocco.

Since his arrival to the United States, Alfaress has produced a number of projects that have become popular internationally. For the last 2 years Alfaress has been working diligently on his new album, You, Me and Her, soon to be released. The album is chocked full of new ideas and many features.

Alfaress has proven his best work in You, Me and Her and gives the listening audience some of his most heartfelt projects.
