Probably one of the most influential tracks in the history of drum'n'bass , yet hardly anybody has heard of this.
This track was the last cut on the b-side to the "King Of the jungle EP".
This was the record that Gerald released directly after his seminal "28 Gun Bad Boy".
Like most of the tracks on "28", the tracks on this EP were around 140-5 bpms ,except for this track which was a whopping ( for it's time)165bpm.

It's difficult to remember now how things were in 1992 on the "hardcore" scene. People were getting used to the gradual increase in speed compared to house , and it was often still possible for a DJ to mix a house record into a hardcore one ( if the house record was pitched right up to +8!).

"Boase up" seemed to break the mould. The link between a straight up house record and this was non-existent. You cant hear any house influences in the rhythm, the tempo , the samples or the structure, unlike the way you can in many other proto-jungle tracks of the time

Gerald was always a pioneer.
