Adam Fears. "Red Dirt never tasted this good." Rock'N'Roll collides with greasy country on the front lines of the modern, musical revolution that is taking place down "south" in the Lone-Star State. Get ready. Had enough with the "poppy" country that comes out of Music City?? Here's your answer. Adam Fears, from Whitehouse, Texas, is no stranger to the game he's playing. He earned his stripes on stages all over Texas during his tenure at Texas A&M University playing with his best friends, the former "Brazos Valley Band" (a.k.a. the BVB) and shared those stages with some of the greatest entertainers the buisness has to offer. During his college career, he took a year off to promote his first album, "Where They Left Off" on Texas radio before going back to complete his degree in agricultural development-his other love. His life of farming and ranching cast the singer into an eternal iron-clad true-to-texas country boy. It was during this time off from the books that he was offered a position as a staff writer on Music Row. He turned down the offer at first, deciding to go back to Texas A&M to finish what he had started there: four years in the famous Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets, the "Nationally Famous Fightin' Texas Aggie Band," and the path to a degree that hangs in his office on Music Row today. Upon graduating college, he re-visited the offer to make the move to Nashville, and is now writing songs for a publishing company in the "ville." His publisher saw more than a writer when he saw Adam playing lead guitar for other bands around Music City. He presented the idea of a co-produced, brand-new album.one that would have to be released back to the crowds that gave Adam the realization of his true passion in the first place. Texans! The album YOU GET ME produced by Adam Fears and Shane Theriot was a long road of writing, producing, polishing and repolishing. Adam did not want YOU GET ME to sound like Music City "poppy" country. "The album must represent me.a Texas country boy." Adam told his team. "We have to create something that speaks for itself, and defines itself. Something that defines me. Something that sounds like me and no one else. I want the audience to hear this and 'get me.'" That's just what they did. The title track,"You Get Me," sets the course of the record and is a "swampy","greasy" rock-fueled definition of who Adam Fears really is. No frills. Just straight in your face cold hard truth. "We wanted to tell the world who Adam Fears is, and what he's all about," his team decided as they sat and wrote and produced the cut. There are other songs on the album that tell the story of Adam's life as well. "The Lights Went Out" , "The World Was 17" and "Dead End Dirt Road" to name a few, all give the audience insight to the rural East Texas kid's lifestyle that made Adam Fears the man he is today. This album is about Adam Fears. There are heart-felt ballads on the album that talk about the pleasures and pain of faith, hope, and love as well. "I want people to hear my songs and say 'yeah, I know what he was going through when he wrote that.'" Adam says. The current single "Running Out Of Texas" is set to be released to Texas Country Radio in July of this year. Now, teamed up with Nashville and Texas pickers alike, Adam is bringing a whole new sound, as well as attitude back to the stages of his home state. With a radio tour planned for the end of summer and "Running Out Of Texas" on the airwaves of Texas country radio, the Adam Fears Band will be reaching out, once again, to his old fans and hopefully be able to pick up a few new ones along the way. Be listening for his songs and be ready to drive a little faster when you hear them. After all, "Red Dirt never tasted this good."
