Heather Lynne Horton’s recently completed album, “Postcard Saturdays”, is a collection of deeply intimate and emotional songs that leave no stone unturned in the shadowy world of love and loss. Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with producer Lex Price, the album is a staggering collection of songs that charts loves' often misguided course with an intensity rarely matched in modern music. Price created an intimate, and cinematic landscape which lets the listener travel down the roads Horton has carefully crafted, with imagery that can transport the listener, from a Steinbeckesque “The end is near, we’re dying everyday” from the title track “Postcard Saturdays” and “Meanwhile, back at the ranch “ from the rocker “Bandit Country” to the confessional of closing time classic “Lines” “You could charm the taste off a sweet tooth”. Emotional power punches are plentiful on this album. Sweeping sonnets of raw, plaintive passion, are clearly stated in “Starin’ At The Telephone” when the lover finds herself alone in a strange town, with only her loneliness to stave off utter desperation. This is no collection of “love gone wrong” songs. There is a brimming hope that love will prevail. This isn’t a damsel in distress album, which proves evident on “Don’ t Cry Wolf, Coyote “ our heroine proclaims,

“Don’t cry wolf, coyote

you can’t pull the wool over my eyes

Don’t cry wolf , coyote

i won’t fall for your disguise “

There are many wonderful musings and lamentations on this album that aren't exclusive to any gender. Maybe the albums most potent track, the conversational, “I Picked The Wrong Day To Quit Smoking “, we find our heroine confronting herself, in a moment, which could lead to redemption or possibly lead to destruction when she sings,

“ I picked the wrong day to quit drinking

drowning sorrows, looming near

you said you love me, like you’re joking

i’m hanging over from our year “

Heather Lynne Horton’s heroine, be it a fictional character or not, is gripping, romantic, hopeful, heartbreaking and poetic. Horton lends insights and a wonderful narrative to the feelings that haunted the romantic soul since time immemorial. You can almost hear the ghosts of Keats, Shelly and Lord Byron on this album. “Postcard Saturdays” is a journey through the dark night of the soul. A journey into the light of love. A journey you will never forget.

Hawaiian born, Midwestern adopted and raised, appropriately depicts the cross-cultural inception of what has blossomed into the infused extreme musical crossover appeal and artistry of Heather Lynne Horton. Self-taught pianist, violinist, guitarist, mandolin player and vocalist - by the age of 4, Heather was performing works by ear off of the family Heathkit stereo. From Simon and Garfunkel to Mozart, her intrigue of perfect melodies, harmonies and storytelling surpassed what her adopted family were able to comprehend or exploit merely from their living room. Heather has mastered what the industry salivates for – “the total package.” Not just another great singer-songwriter and certainly not just another pretty face. “.Men want her and women want to be her. Her hair, face, body are absolutely wonderful and so much fun to watch! More importantly, her musical talent and perfectionism on stage are unmatched… (Horton’s) electric violin and sensual voice are out of this world!” (Karen J. Layers, Tangled Thoughts).

Self-proclaimed and accused “music-obsessed”, Heather has spent her life formulating an evolution of excellence - creating music to visually, lyrically and musically appeal to the broadest cross-section of demographics ever possible. There is no age, sex, social relevance or music preference that can strip focus from her stage. “…I have seen, on many occasions, first time audience members drawn in, held captive and then released with the look of a gushing school kid running to their friends to proudly and excitedly report what they have just discovered…It's infectious - contagious…” (Mike Le Baron, 101.9 The MIX FM / US 99.5 FM, radio personality, Chicago, IL)
