'Miller is an oustanding guitarist' - ACOUSTIC UK
'Miller's performance was one of the best, if not the best, we witnessed at the 2010 Summer NAMM' &
'His music is groove oriented, highly melodic and just plain fun. Coupled with incredible technique and a knack for writing a catchy tune, Miller has everything it takes to be a world-wide success, and we feel that this could definitely be the year that he reaches international acclaim on the level his playing deserves.' - GUITAR INTERNATIONAL
A blend of precision and raw emotion Adam Miller interweaves percussive rhythms, complex bass lines and intricate melodies all played simultaneously on the one guitar! It is this talent that has seen him perform with guitar innovator and inventor Les Paul in New York City, the 'Certified Guitar Player' Tommy Emmanuel across Australia and the USA, and trade licks with jazz guitarist Charlie Hunter. Miller won the 2002 Australian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition, and has performed at major Australian festivals including The Australian Blues Festival, A Day On The Green, Jazz In The Vines, and the Melbourne, Frankston, and Adelaide International Guitar Festivals. He has also performed at two NAMM shows for Cole Clark Guitars.
Miller has featured in articles in magazines such as Acoustic UK, Australian Guitar, and Australian Musician. The US based Guitar International Magazine named Miller the Guitarist Deserving Wider Recognition in their 2010 Guitar Awards.
Adam Miller's latest album, 'Out Of My Hands', was recorded primarily live in the studio. Miller's polyphonic acoustic guitar parts weave between the electric bass (Peter Gray) and drums (Nic Cecire) to create a sound that seems impossible for just three people. The grooves and intensity of playing are completely unexpected from an acoustic guitar. "I love that with an acoustic guitar, what you put in is what you get out. And without the distractions of amplification and effects I found I could concentrate more on the music I was making."
Adam Miller's songs are bluesy, soulful, and heartfelt, with a focus on groove and jazz inspired improvisation. He draws influence from guitar greats Robben Ford, Charlie Hunter, John Scofield, Chris Cheney, Eric Clapton, Tommy Emmanuel, Martin Taylor, Bill Frissell, James Muller, and superb contemporary songwriters like John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Ben Folds, Fiona Apple, Damien Rice, and Eagle-Eye Cherry.
Adam will release a new solo acoustic guitar album in 2011 through Solid Air Records
