What do you get when you mix equal unhealthy doses of high energy three chord
rock-n-roll with whiskey drenched southern charm?
Action City Blackout that's what.
Conceived and given birth to in Charleston, South Carolina,
Action City Blackout has spent the last year winning rave revues for
it's over the top live performances and infectious debut EP.
Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Emily Richards,
this femme fatale has all the rasp and bombast of her male rock contemporaries,
but underneath all the grit and effortless arena rock posing,
the young lady can actually carry a tune.
Guitarist Collin DeBruhl seems to have graduated summa cum laude from the Joe Perry school of cool.
With his low slung Les Paul and cigarette perpetually dangling from his mouth,
he seems hellbent on introducing rock audiences to a new guitar hero.
Complimenting DeBruhl's machine gun solos is the Blackout's riff king, Jack Hunter.
All slinky in his well worn snakeskin boots, Hunter wields his oversized Gretsch guitar as
if he were trying to conjure up rock-n-roll demons from 1977.
Pounding out and driving the ferocious beats is none other than Josh Martin.
His talent belies his years as he tends to swing like a groovy cat from yesteryear and hit
as hard as a street punk with something to prove.
Rounding out the solid and bombastic rhythm section is veteran rocker Ron Reddick.
Combining elements of 70’s and 80’s hard rock, metal and early punk,
Action City Blackout delivers one volatile and heady amplified concoction.
And for many,
It's been a long time coming.
