DESCRIPTION:
Stewart Tormey AKA Malcolm Funktion is an Electro/Techno style DJ/Producer, born and raised in Dublin in 1979.
From a very early age he has portrayed a keen interest in electronic music and production, which led to him playing his first club at 17 warming up for Julian Liberator. Over the past 14 years, his enthusiastic approach to music and visible talent has led him to owning his own record shop "Gimik Records", promoting and headlining club nights, releasing his own music on various compilation albums, and ultimately being signed to record labels.

In 2007 a German record label, 4-stroke Produktunes snapped him up, which led to his first album release in 2008 on the label, Electro Plastic, called The Electric Selection. Later, Malcolm Funktion changed record labels and successfully released three sets of EP's with Elliptic Records, the top selling EP's "Nasty Shit", "The last piece of "Disco" and "Bassline Rumpa" have topped the MySpace Irish charts on numerous occasions.

Malcolm Funktion has had such positive feedback from not just European enthusiasts but also North America, Canada and Australia, which has now led to various collaborations with some well established artists who are currently interested in his musical ability for future remixes. Stewart is set to release further EPs with Volt9 Records in Amsterdam and Acidphonic in the UK which will also feature promising remixes from successful artists including Ministry of Sounds Kid Kenobi.

Stewart has not only enjoyed bringing his music to the clubs but has also enjoyed the opportunity of bringing his music to the theatre when he had the privilage of providing the music score for the drug fueled roller coaster of a play that was "Candy Flipping Butterflies", written and directed by Karl Argue the play was a week long sell out success with positive reviews. This has also led Stewart to morphing his musical ideas into Independent Irish Films.

For the future Stewart is determined to keep pushing the boundaries of musical genres and will continue to create and produce music as best he can with a collaboration in the pipeline with a sought after UK based vocalist to create a duo with the hope of providing some original ideas.

After the debut single release on Redbox Records of "Give it to them" & then "Musik", Malcolm Funktion is back with another tough Electro track, "More Balls Than Brains".

This time with remixes from well established Aussie DJ & Producer T-Star, and Electro international artist Beatronik. Also we have a radio and original Mix, and a music Video produced by the man himself!
